DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Philipp Seegert\, Thomas Wetzel\, André Weber\, Wol
fgang Bessler\, Marc Kamlah\n\nThe 21st edition of the international Sympo
sium on Modeling and Experimental Validation of Electrochemical Energy Tec
hnologies – ModVal 2025 – took place in Karlsruhe from March 10 to 12
\, 2025. Organized by Offenburg University of Applied Sciences and Karlsr
uhe Institute of Technology\, the conference brought together 230 scientis
ts from 18 countries in the field of modeling\, simulation and experimenta
l validation of electrochemical energy technologies. The program reflected
the thematic diversity and dynamic research landscape of the field: two p
lenary lectures\, four keynotes\, 36 technical talks across two parallel s
essions\, and more than 100 scientific posters – a new record – offere
d comprehensive insights into current developments and future trends. With
  engaging discussions\, inspiring presentations\, and vibrant exchanges\,
ModVal 2025 was provided a significant contribution to the advancement of
sustainable energy technologies. Plenary speakersProf. Dr. David Howey (U
niversity of Oxford\, UK)Dr. Adam Weber (Lawrence Berkeley National Labora
tory\, USA) About ModvalThe Modval Symposium was established in 2004 to d
iscuss advances in the modelling\, simulation and experimental validation
of rechargeable batteries\, all types of fuel cells\, electrolysers and ot
her electrochemical energy conversion technologies. It takes place every y
ear in spring\, alternating between Switzerland and Germany. The symposium
is proud of its long tradition of discussing details of model development\
, numerical implementation and specific validation methods\, which is not
the case at other major conferences. It provides an excellent opportunity
to exchange ideas\, discuss new approaches and initiate international co-o
perations. Conference chairsProf. Dr. Wolfgang Bessler\, Institut für na
